Utah: A State of Opportunity
Governor Jon Huntsman Speech
Letter from Utah Governor Jon Huntsman:
As Governor, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the third annual Utah Economic Summit. Our theme for this event is "Utah: A State of Opportunity." Utah's talented citizens, coupled with our vast resources, have created a unique business dynamic. Our pro-business efforts allow us to foster business growth, despite the economic events transpiring throughout the world. Other states are experiencing a significant slow down and although Utah has been affected, we continue to move forward in our broad-based business economy with significantly less damage and some significant bright spots.
Economic development has always been one of my top priorities, and together we have built a strong economic base that is stabilizing, even as the rest of the country slows. Our great state continues to displays signs of a dynamic economy in several business sectors and the rest of the country recognizes that Utah is one of the "Best States for Business.
We have worked to our strengths, been innovative, and maintained an attitude of success. As your Governor, it is my privilege to extend appreciation and thanks on behalf of Utah's citizens for a job well done. Keep up the good work.
Utah's economy and what the national stimulus means to the state.
